Hard plastic dolls were made for a short period after the Second World War from a material based on cellulose acetate which had been perfected during the war for aircraft parts. Many of the British doll factories had engaged in war work and it was a natural progression to later use the new material for dolls. Illustrating over 400 dolls and related items, this book provides much needed information on this little-researched and fascinating subject.
